The lake Sevan is a vast tablecloth hanging on 1918 meter of altitude. Its surface is 1 256m spreading on 75km long and 56km of breadth, that is three times the lake Leman in Swidzerland. Water takes a turquoise color under the sun. Banks are covered with white sand and you can swim rather easily because some beaches are done up. It is dominated by Geghama Mauntain where you will have an unforgetable point of view. You will visit the island of Birds (become a peninsula), located on the north top of the lake, on which sit enthroned the monastery of Sevanavank constituted two marvelous churches dating the Xth century. They were constructed under the reign of the king Ashot Erkat (Ashot the Iron) and are a typical example of medieval Armenian architectural art.
1st day
Arrival, transfer from the airport to the hotel.
2nd day
Excursion in Ejmiatsin, participation in mass, visit to the churches St Hripsime and St Gayane. Temple of Zvartnots. Return to Yerevan.
Meal. Visit to the pagan tample of Garni and the Monastrey of Geghard. Night at Yerevan.
3rd day
Departure for Khor Virap. Noravank. Continuation to Sevan. The canyon of Selim, the Caravanserai. Dinner. Stay in the hotel in Sevan.
4th day
Depart for Dilijan. Excursion in Haghartsine and Goshavank Monasteries. Picnic in Haghartsine. Return.
Excursion to the churches in peninsula. Dinner in Sevan.
5th day
Optional excursion to the monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin.
Return to Sevan, dinner.
6th day
Excursion to Tsaghkazor, Kecharis. Khatchkars of Noratus. Picnic. Hiking tour. Return to Sevan. Dinner.
7th day
Return to Yerevan. Seeing off in the airport. Departure.
