Today this region declared itself independent Republic, even though it is not acknowledged by the UNO as a sovereign state. Its capital is Stepanakert. Its historical name is Artsakh. It is the 10th ” nahang ” (province) of 15 Armenian historical provinces. This country has a heroic history and sometimes dramatic, with distinguished culture and a remarkable natural beauty. There are more than 2700 ancient and architectural monuments on this territory.
